Sinterklaas arrived in the Netherlands yesterday. It's quite the event around here, with the news reporting on his boats progress and, of course, plenty of kids and adults dressed up like Zwarte Piet. In honor of the season, here's a link to my favorite essay about this particular tradition. It's by David Sedaris (of course). Another option is to listen to him reading it in three parts. The one thing he does better than writing (that I know about at least) is reading his stories. Enjoy!
